SEO Services for Missoula and Beyond

Search engine optimization is the core of what ZooTown SEO does. Custom plans for Missoula businesses, built around your goals and your budget.

SEO has been at the heart of ZooTown SEO since 2012. Over those years I’ve earned number 1 rankings on Google for clients here in Missoula and for plenty of niche sites of my own. I’m based in the Garden City, but I work with businesses all over Montana and across the U.S.

There’s no single recipe. The right approach depends on your business, your market and how hard your competitors are already pushing. Some local searches can be won in a few weeks. Others take months of steady work. Either way, you’ll know what to expect before we start, because we’ll look at the competition for your keywords together.

Search engines change all the time, and I follow those changes closely. I only use techniques that hold up when Google updates its algorithm. That means no shortcuts that get a site penalized later. The goal is rankings that stick.

Customized SEO Plans for Your Budget and Business

Every campaign is different, so plans are built around what your business actually needs. Here’s what that work usually includes.

Keyword Research and Selection

Finding the searches your customers really type, from “SEO Missoula” to “emergency roof repair near me”, and picking the ones worth fighting for.

On-Page SEO

Titles, headings, page copy and internal links that make it obvious to Google which page answers which search.

Site Structure and Technical SEO

A clean structure, fast load times, mobile-friendly pages and proper schema markup, so search engines can crawl and understand your whole site.

Google Business Profile

A complete, accurate map listing with the right categories, services, photos and posts. For local searches, it’s often where the call comes from.

Link Building

Quality links from relevant, trustworthy sites. No contract required, and you can cancel link building at any time, no questions asked.

Reporting You Can Read

Plain-English updates on where you rank, what changed and what’s next. No 40-page reports full of jargon.

Local SEO vs. National SEO

Local SEO

Local SEO is for businesses that serve customers in a specific area: a Missoula plumber, a Bitterroot excavation company, a downtown barbershop. The work centers on your Google Business Profile, reviews, local citations and pages built around your service area. The goal is to show up in the map pack and the top results when someone nearby searches.

National SEO

National SEO is for businesses that sell anywhere, like online stores, software and national services. The competition is usually tougher, so it leans harder on content, site structure and links.

Most ZooTown clients need local SEO. If your business does both, we’ll build a plan that covers each.

Who Our SEO Is For

SEO works best as fuel for a business that’s already running. It’s a strong fit if you have:

  • An established business. You’re up and running and ready to grow your web presence, not still testing an idea.
  • Customers coming in already. You’re making sales and have a steady flow of leads. SEO helps you get more of the same.
  • A good product and a good reputation. More visibility helps most when people who find you are glad they did.

Not sure if that’s you? Call anyway. If SEO isn’t the right move yet, I’ll tell you what is.

SEO Services FAQ

How long before I see results?

Less competitive local searches can start moving within a few weeks. Competitive keywords usually take a few months. You’ll get an honest read on your keywords before we start.

What do you need from me?

Access to your website and Google Business Profile, a clear list of your services and service area, and a little time for a kickoff call. I handle the rest and check in when I need a decision.

How will I know it’s working?

You’ll get regular plain-English reports on rankings for your target keywords and on the traffic and calls coming from search.

What happens if Google changes something and my rankings drop?

I watch algorithm updates closely and stick to techniques that hold up through them. If rankings move, I’ll look into why and adjust the plan.
